Sighetu Marmației
a city originally established in 1326, on the border of ukraine, with an ethnographic museum and a former communist prison. I originally had booked several nights in an airbnb, but i only stayed one night due to the feeling of being secretly watched and a scared dog that barked outside all night. it was also obvious it was someone's usual residence and they only vacated when they had a booking, obvious by the piles of shoes, forgotten cell phones charging and opened bags of snacks on the kitchen counter. After my first sleepless night, I left and found a much more suitable place to explore Sighetu Marmației and Ukraine. the second place was a peaceful guesthouse with very friendly people, excellent food served family style, and not a barking dog within earshot.
