Voroneț
After my amazing experience in Dorna Arini, immediately followed by my disappointment in Suceava, I was once again ready to head into the country. I found a guest house online in a tiny village known for its blue-painted monastery. I arrived in the nearest town by train and started to hike to the village when a dented mercedes approached me from behind. The driver, a forestry professor, was also my host at the guesthouse. We immediately hit it off and he introduced me to his family. Absolutely lovely people and I stayed in their guesthouse three different times. Because it was a guesthouse, I also met some fascinating people, including an architect from Bucharest with amazing stories of life behind the Iron Curtain. He also invited me to visit him in Naxos Greece. I have never felt so warmly accepted as I did in Voroneț.
